This New Year is Going to Be Next Level, Mark My Words

Happy New Year!

 

It's that time of year again when people set their New Years Resolutions...

 

How do you feel about New Years Resolutions?

 

I'm seeing a trend in the wellness space where people are actually against this whole "new year, new you" mentality.

 

I get it... it's a bit cringy and cliche and you don't need to become a new person!

 

However, I do think it's important to continuously grow and evolve. So maybe its not "new year, new you" but "next level you." 😉

 

Maybe you're thinking "that's kinda the same thing Steph" and you have no desire to jump on the New Years Resolution bandwagon. I get that too... your brain actually wants to prevent you from making change. It's because we are wired for survival and change and stepping out of our comfort zone is perceived as a threat.

 

However, we are safe and we can tell our brains that!

 

In fact we can train our brains and change our mindset to finally achieve those big, scary goals!

 

Yes, if your goals don't scare you, they aren't big enough.

 

So although you may not want to become a "new you" you might want to consider making the next chapter of your story a thrilling one where you step out of your comfort zone and go for it. Why not?

 

My coach likes to say instead of "what's the worse that can happen?... what's the best that can happen?

 

Likely the possible benefits outweigh the risks and honestly sometimes the only thing scarier than change is remaining the same.


My scary goal for this year is to do a fitness photoshoot 💪

 

I remember years ago looking at a post online of a bunch of women doing one and I said to my husband "I could never do that."

 

Well I'm glad I changed my mind. Now I've put it out there and I always do what what I'll say I do so now I have no choice! Lol. 😅

 

Even better, I've convinced a friend to do one too 🤗

 

I'm also going to participate in my own program, the Next Level Transformation.

 

It's a program where I'll uphold 10 healthy lifestyle habits which I chose myself for 10 weeks. The habits are pretty holistic and all encompassing.

 

Yes there are nutrition and fitness habits, but I also have mind and relationship habits. One of my habits will be doing a guided meditation every morning for 10 minutes to help cancel out any thoughts of doubt. Another habit will be spending 1 hour uninterrupted playing with my kids each day, as being a more present mom is also a goal of mine.
